Description:
Asian Brush painting is a very gratifying and soothing form of art.
Come experience this art form in a one-day workshop. We will study the
Four Gracious Plants: bamboo, orchid leaf, plum blossom, and chrysanthemum.
Brush painting is done with ink and watercolor on rice paper. Sometimes
referred to as "Sumi-e" which is a Japanese term meaning "ink
picture." Sumi-e allows you to get in touch with your inner self
and it can give you many hours of joy.
Materials Needed:
rice paper (best shuen (p10) and practice roll
Sumi-e ink
watercolors (optional)
1/2 yard of black or white felt (used to absorb moisture)
water container (any container is fine)
white plate or pallet

If you do not want to purchase paper from OAS, you can purchase paper
at the time of workshop.
