Art & Soul Gallery is located in the quaint village of Eastport
on Long Island's east end. The Gallery has an eclectic mix of
fine art, decorative art, sculpture, pottery, and fine crafts.
We feature quality art by well-known, professional Long
Island and national artists. Art & Soul is an art gallery
as well as an art education center, fine craft shop and custom
framing design center.
Mary
Samuels, an accomplished Artist, is the Gallery Owner. Her
vision is for Art & Soul to be a creative arts center where
artists and those seeking to connect with creativity know they
can be part of a community that shares common objectives. The
gallery features new art shows
of a fresh theme about 6 to 8 times per year with an open reception
to welcome each one.
Mary originally
opened Art & Soul Studio as a small place to paint and teach
a few classes. She rented a small 500-square-foot store on Eastport's
Main Street, across the street from it's current location. Eastport
was renowned for its concentration of antiques dealers and suddenly
has become an art, antiques and social center with the opening
of other wonderful quaint gift shops and popular, cozy social
gathering spots. In November of 2006, Mary had the opportunity
to relocate and quadruple the size of Art & Soul when a spacious
former antiques shop nearby closed. The new expansive space has
become a gathering place drawing artists and art lovers from the
Hamptons to Manhattan who are seeking to connect with other creative
types. Here they can exhibit their art, take a painting or craft
class, select custom framing for a print, take a writing class
or buy a unique gift.
Art
& Soul now offers a large variety of art
and fine craft workshops. All are taught by artists who live
in the surrounding community. Workshops include: watercolor, oil
and acrylic painting, decorative painting, hand building in clay,
silver clay jewelry and children's
art & craft classes.
Mary Samuels
welcomes you to visit the gallery and enjoy all it has to offer.
